Peach Tree Health’s Director of Behavioral Health Highlights Importance of Maternal Mental Health at Regional Conference

YUBA-SUTTER, Calif. — Peach Tree Health is proud to recognize Director of Behavioral Health Allison Lemere, LMFT, for her recent participation as a panelist at the Annual Maternal Mental Health Conference hosted by the Yuba-Sutter Blue Shift Project, a collaborative initiative dedicated to improving maternal and infant health outcomes throughout the region.

Bringing Providers Together to Support Families

The conference brought together healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, community organizations, and advocates to address critical issues surrounding perinatal mental health. Panel discussions focused on improving access to care, strengthening referral networks, identifying barriers to treatment, and fostering greater collaboration among providers to support families during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

A Voice for Whole-Person Care

As both a licensed marriage and family therapist and the mother of two young boys, Lemere offered a unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight. During the panel discussion, she emphasized the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where parents feel heard, understood, and empowered to seek help when they need it.

“Perinatal mental health is an essential part of whole-person healthcare,” said Lemere. “When we create spaces where parents feel supported and connected, we help strengthen not only individual well-being but the health of entire families.”

How Peach Tree Health Supports Perinatal Mental Health

At Peach Tree Health, behavioral health services are integrated into primary care to ensure patients have access to timely, compassionate, and evidence-based support. The organization utilizes validated screening tools, individualized assessments, and collaborative care approaches to identify and address perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Recognizing that every patient’s experience is different, providers work closely with individuals and families to understand their unique circumstances, strengths, and challenges.

Peach Tree Health is also proud to have multiple therapists who have completed specialized training through Postpartum Support International and hold certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), helping ensure families in the communities we serve can access high-quality, specialized care close to home.
