Peach Tree Health was founded in 1991 as an offshoot of the former Yuba County Hospital. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, its primary purpose was to provide care to the uninsured and underinsured residences of Yuba County.

Chronic disease rates in Yuba-Sutter counties are among the highest in entire state. The death rate due to heart disease in Yuba County is the sixth highest among California’s 58 counties. Sutter County is the 11th highest.
